The metal market this past week as seen metals gain in price and stability. Now that the Shanghai market is back open, we will see if the Chinese market will continue to have influence over the greater world market prices.
Keep in mind that the metal market fundamentals remain the same. The U.S. dollar is still down for the year, metal shortages at the COMEX and London and increased industrial usage.
Refineries have begun the long process to normalize business operations. Gold is being accepted with the ability to lock in spot prices at drop off. This is a huge improvement over the last month of not being able to lock until settlement. While overcapacity is still a problem with silver scrap, we anticipate that improving in the next 2-3 weeks.
